13 System Software Bugs
FM-Agent found 13 bugs across vLLM-Ascend, RPent, and Redis in this update: two in the Ascend inference framework, eight in the embodied-AI framework, and three in Redis.
Their restrictive triggering conditions and dependence on system behavior make these problems difficult to uncover with conventional testing.
vLLM-Ascend Crash
When the FA3 attention backend and ngram speculative decoding are both enabled, a batch mixing prefill and decode requests can trigger an AI Core execution exception and crash inference. The issue was reported to the community, where developers submitted pull requests to address it.
RPent Rotation Errors
The rotate_wrist and rotate_pitch tools promise to preserve the end-effector position during rotation. Their implementation instead resets the position target to the current position at every step, allowing displacement errors to accumulate. A mismatch between rotation normalization and the controller configuration also makes each requested rotation increment five times the intended size.
In the bottle-to-drawer reproduction described in the article, the end effector drifted about 21 cm and dropped the bottle. The tool returned normally without reporting the position-hold failure, so the planner continued transporting and releasing with an empty gripper.
Dameng Case Study
Dameng developers reported using FM-Agent with a DeepSeek Flash model to analyze a database compatibility driver. In two hours at a reported cost of $10.39, the run covered 163 functions and produced 98 reported defects, of which 31 had been manually confirmed as real bugs.
The findings span memory safety, data correctness, observability, and resource lifetimes. Detailed reports and executable reproduction tests help developers investigate failure paths that smoke tests can miss.

Clang Integration
CodeGraph primarily relies on syntax analysis and heuristic name matching, which can miss or misidentify calls involving C++ templates and overloaded operators. Incorrect callers or callees can then distort specification generation and verification.
FM-Agent now invokes Clang through Python subprocesses, using -Xclang -ast-dump=json to obtain a JSON AST and extract function calls. Clang requires a separate installation; on Ubuntu:
sudo apt install clang
If Clang is unavailable or analysis fails, FM-Agent falls back to CodeGraph.
